Booking a tribute act: what to check first
Updated 2026-10-14
Tribute acts suit milestone birthdays, themed nights and venues. These are the things that separate a great booking from a disappointing one.
Watch live footage, not just photos
Look at how they sound and move live, how they talk to the crowd between songs, and how they look up close.
Know what you’re getting
Is it a solo tribute singing to backing tracks, or a full live band? How many sets, and how long is each? Are there costume changes?
Venue and technical
Check stage space, power, changing space, load-in time and any sound limiter. Ask whether the act brings its own PA and lighting.
The contract
Make sure the contract names the act, the set times, the deposit and when the balance is due, and what happens if the act can’t perform.
FAQs
Do tribute acts travel?
Many do. On Find the Act, acts marked UK-wide travel anywhere in the UK, and travel costs are agreed with the agency.
